NCDOT TO HOLD WORKSHOP JUNE 17 FOR PROPOSED WIDENING
OF VILLAGE ROAD IN LELAND
RALEIGH — The N.C. Department of Transportation will hold a citizens’ informational workshop on Tuesday, June 17, for the proposed widening of Village Road (State Road 1472) in Leland.
The informal meeting will be from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Leland Senior Center Community Building, 1490 Village Road, NE, Leland. Citizens are invited to drop in and speak individually with NCDOT officials as well as review project plans. Comments received during the meeting will be considered as plans are finalized.
NCDOT proposes to widen Village Road to a four-lane divided highway with a 23-foot raised median from South Navassa Road (S.R. 1435) to one of the following intersections:
- Village Road and Lanvale Road (S.R. 1438);
- Leland School Road (S.R. 1441) and Mount Misery Road (S.R. 1478); or
- Lincoln Road (S.R. 1455) and Mount Misery Road.
