Olde Towne Crier June 2012

Happy SUMMER DAYS!

Park Beautification-
Volunteers needed! We are going to get our park looking amazing. Our plan is for new trees, bushes and landscaping. If you have ideas or would like to donate time, supplies or funds, please let us know! Everyone’s participation is appreciated! The next project is our baseball field. Also, we will be moving the entrance to the park, allowing additional parking. This will allow easier park access.  Date to follow….. Don’t forget that you’re invited to check out our *New* sand volleyball court! We want our community family’s enjoying our park! Thank you.

Mall Clean up-
Please join us on Saturday June 16th to clean up the main entrance. We will be cleaning up the mall and adding more pine straw. We take great pride in our beautiful neighborhood.
Please join us! 8am-12

NEW RESIDENTS
We have about 185 residents in Olde Towne and it has been hard to keep up with folks moving out and moving in, so please let us know if you are a new resident or have a new neighbor. We want to make everyone feel welcome to our beautiful community.

Meet A Neighbor

Mrs. Marty Kosmeh
our association president.
Marty was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico but with a step-dad being in the military her family moved often to various places in the west and southwest.  She finally settled in Las Vegas and lived there for about twenty-three years.  That’s where she met her husband, John.  They married while on a trip to Boston to see John’s mother.

Marty didn’t want to return to Vegas so they chose to settle in North Carolina.  The job market being what it was they moved to a few places in Western NC and eventually decided to come east to a larger city.    By then Marty and John had a daughter and two sons, and apartment living was not for them!  Marty began driving around the area looking for something that would appeal to her, and that’s when she discovered Olde Towne.  She fell in love with the charm and natural landscaping in the community and it wasn’t long before her family moved into a house on Olde Towne Wynd South.   The Kosmeh family has lived here for about six years now, and Marty says she just loves it!   She has always dreamed of having a large family and in addition to her daughter and two sons she has a three-year-old grandchild.  Marty and John have fostered two boys who are now twenty-three years old.
One of them likes living here so much that he never left!

$1000.00   REWARD
There has been some vandalism in the park recently and also around the neighborhood. A truck that was loaned to us to help with the park work was damaged. The owner has offered a $1000.00 reward to the person that provides information that leads to a successful prosecution.
We will not tolerate vandalism in our
neighborhood.

If you have any information, please contact any board member or the Sheriffs Department.

WE LOVE OUR COMMUNITY!

It’s that time of year again – OTCA dues are now due. We would like to thank all the residents that have already paid this year! ….SO THANK YOU,
WE GREATLY APPRECIATE YOU!
Every year we ask that residents participate in our community by becoming part of the Olde Towne Community Association. It only costs $24.00 per year and here is what we do with the funds: We plan several children’s parties throughout the year, host several adult events throughout the year and make improvements to the landscaping throughout the community. We also publish the Crier. We would love to see more folks come on out to join events and invite you to see the amazing transformations that are happening!
YOU HAVE BEEN SENT A SPECIAL INVATION! WE WANT YOU TO JOIN US!

Special thanks to all of you that made an extra donation
Towards the park fund.
