Olde Towne Crier November 2008

VandalismUpdate

We are still waiting to hear about a court date regarding the vandalism
in the park. We continue to have problems with graffiti. Two of the
picnic tables have been defaced and the older picnic table was

broken and flattened. If you have any information regarding
suspicious activity in our neighborhood, please contact Det. Coring
at 253-2540

OTCA
Children’s Parties

The OTCA Children’s Halloween party was a great success. There is
a slide show of pictures at the oldetowne blog spot, so if you were
unable to attend, visit
http://oldetownenc28451.blogspot.com/
and see all the fun you missed. You can see the kids playing games
and having fun in all their Halloween costumes. A huge THANK YOU to
Andrea for hosting and organizing the party! She has started making
plans for the Christmas party. If will be held at the Keefe’s
home, 735 Brunswick Place, on Friday December 19th at 6
p.m. If you are interested in helping, or if you would like to
donate gifts, drinks, snacks, cupcakes, etc., please call or email
Andrea. Her phone number is 371-2060 or email
apkeefe@bellsouth.net. Please let her know as soon as possible if
you plan to attend (she will need to let Santa know how many gifts
he needs to bring). I have talked to Santa and he is practicing his
Ho Ho Ho’s and is looking forward to seeing all the OTCA
children at the party.

Neighborhood Watch

Neighborhood watch signs will be posted at the entrances to Olde Towne as soon as
they are ready.

Oyster
& Shrimp Event

The annual Oyster Roast was held on Saturday November 8 and we had a

really good turnout and a perfect fall day. Jeff steamed the oysters
over a wood fire, Don cooked us sausage on the grill and there were
lots of shrimp, delicious appetizers and desserts. We all had a
wonderful time catching up with our neighbors, and meeting some new
friends, the kids got to enjoy the playground and chasing each other
and Pat’s dog around. We extend our grateful appreciation to
Denny, Stuart and Don for getting the mulch spread under the
playground equipment, to Stuart and Denny for fixing and painting
the picnic table, to Kenny and his helper for mowing the grass and
sweeping up all the pinestraw, to Pat for setting everything up,
organizing, and making the place look great, to Bev for taking
photos for everyone to see, and to everyone that brought such
delicious side dishes. Thank you to everyone that contributed in
making such a successful event.

WILMINGTON’S CATESBY JONES

Unable to get photo to show, Sorry.

As much as I love to sing and perform, I think of myself as a writer more than an artist and my goal is to inspire others to record my material. I hope one of these songs speaks to your heart and paints a picture of your life.” -Catesby Jones

**This concert is being held as a fundraiser to support the Brunswick Arts Council’s efforts to purchase a curtain for the stage at Belville Elementary School.
