Storm of September 27, 2010
Over the years this little community has been mostly protected from storms going through. They usually pass by with small amounts of rain. Occasionally, nature hits us with to much rain to fast for the drain structure to handle.
September 27th, 2010 was just such a storm. It rained relentlessly until upwards of about ten inches of accumulated water fell and the ground couldn't absorb it fast enough. Many roads outside our community flooded and were impassable with many motorist were stranded.
I ventured out the next day to take a few photos of the after math but didn't to out during the storm other than to get my mail. If anyone got photos with the worst of it and wants to email them to me, I will gladly add them to the album for the slide show in this blog.
The photos with black circles and writing indicate water levels. Click on the picture to read the caption written.
