Our Olde Towne Community had its annual gathering
Our Olde Towne Community had its annual gathering this year but instead of an Oyster feast we had a Shrimparoo. It was delicious! Tons of shrimp, little potatoes, green beans, side dishes of cole slaw, bean salad, sausage dogs, cake, pie are just a few that my brain remembers. If you didn't come you missed a wonderful time visiting with community neighbors. The side dishes were brought by attending community members. Thank you all that came and enjoyed the visiting.
These gathering are about the only time most of the busy residents get a chance to catch up on what others are doing and going on in their lives. We have usually two a year Spring BBQ with annual meeting and Fall roasting. Olde Towne community provides the food to be cooked and the eating empliments with the dues paid by the community members.
There are childrens gathering at special holidays when we have someone volunteer to organize it. There is also a directory of residents within the Olde Towne community with the paid dues of $24.00 each year. Along with the Crier newsletter that gets distributed throughout the neighborhood either hand delivered or sent by email, which ever you have signed up for. These dues which are voluntary paid of $24.00 per household each year helps maintain our park and entrance mall. This is NOT a homeowners association due it is a COMMUNITY due. Where else could you get all this for just $24.00 a year??? We also have one and sometimes two sponsored community yard sales a year that the advertising is paid by these dues. You only have to pay 20% of what you made in your yard sale to the community toward the expense of advertising!
