Olde Towne Crier March 2009
Annual BBQ/Meeting
The annual meeting and BBQ will be on April 25th. This is a great opportunity to make some new friends in the neighborhood and enjoy our wonderful OTCA Park. We are working on making this an exciting event this year. Bob Uzzell and his father Gerald will be cooking a pig the old fashioned Southern way. We are also working on demonstrations and games for everyone. We will be electing new OTCA officers at this meeting. Please complete the enclosed flier if you plan on attending.

The new Olde Towne bulletin board and mail box have been installed. Many thanks to John Thompson for the design, Geof Ashburner for making the copper trim and Denny Kern and Stuart Smith built and installed the bulletin board. The next task is to improve the landscaping and add mulch. If you would like to assist in this beautification project, please contact Denny or Stuart.
If you have just moved to Olde Towne, Jennifer Ferzola would love to welcome you to our community and help you get settled in. She has a wealth of information about our association and the local area. Jenn’s number is 914-263-3930.
Crime Alert
With the downturn in the economy, the likelihood of more crime in our neighborhood is very strong. Recently a satellite radio was stolen, along with the vehicle keys. Please make every effort to secure your property. Do not leave valuables in open sight in your vehicle. If you see any suspicious activity contact 911 even if your issue is not an emergency.
Spring Yard Sale
Carolyn Ferguson, Truda Brown and Bobbi Fitzpatrick have volunteered to co-chair the spring yard sale that will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2009, from 7 until noon. This is a great opportunity to clear out some household things you no longer need and clean out closets of clothes you no longer wear. If you would like to participate and live on Olde Towne North (from the main entrance up to 9967 and 9970), Southampton Place, and Windsor Place please contact Carolyn Ferguson at 371-6648. If you live on Olde Towne North (from 9957 and 9960 to 9853 and 9854), Kingsworth Lane, Gray Fox Ct, Squire Ct., and Brunswick Place (OT North to OT South) please contact Truda Brown at 383-2221).
The yard sale is a fund raiser for our community, so we hope you will all participate. OTCA will handle all the advertising for this event and it generally brings quite a number of shoppers to homes in our neighborhood.
If you would like to sell anything in our community-wide yard sale, you will be expected to pay 10% of what you take in or $25.00, whichever is less. Whichever co-chairman is responsible for your area will be contacting you prior to the sale to provide a payment envelope for you to place your money in. The envelope will be picked up later that day.

The Olde Towne Community Association is hosting its Annual Pig Pickin Social and Meeting on April 25 at 3 p.m. in our beautiful community park. This is a family event for OTCA members. We are inviting non-members to join us to find out what our association is all about.
Bob Uzzell and his father Gerald will be cooking the pig. This will be an old fashioned pig pickin the way we did it many years ago. We will have delicious barbecued pig. Soft drinks, cups, plates and utensils will be provided. We ask attendees to bring one of their specialties: an hors d'oeuvre, a side dish or a dessert. BYOB. You may bring some folding chairs. Children may wish to bring a lawn game or toy to play with in the park. We will have games and other entertainment.
Our annual meeting will be held first and we will elect our new OTCA officers. We are excited about this event and are looking forward to seeing you. Come on out, reunite with old friends and meet some new ones. We hope to see you there.
Please contact us if you need any further information or have questions.
