Flowering Beauty in our Olde Towne Community

This is just a sampling of some of the beauty in our Olde Towne Community neighborhood. I have taken tons of photos during my little walks since the beginning of Spring that I couldn't begin to post all of them here. So I will give you a sample of the beautiful sights we have with in our neighbors yards.

If you see someone wandering around your yard with a camera, it is most likely me. Usually, I try to do it when I don't see a car around. Everything is breath taking this season.

Enjoy! It would be nice to hear from you. Please leave a comment in the comment section :O)

Annual BBQ and Meeting
Our Pig Pickin’ was a great success. A huge thanks to everyone that helped in making it so! Patricia Ashburner coordinated the event, Mr. Uzzell cooked the pig and sides, Kenny Edgar mowed the park, Stuart brought the drinks, Bobbi Fitzpatrick helped Pat set up and ran the 50/50 raffle. We elected our executive committee for 2010. There were no new candidates and no write-ins. Stuart Smith will serve his final term as President. Bobbi Fitzpatrick and Carolyn Ferguson continue in their present positions, Clare Heinz was elected secretary.

Thank You

We have many unsung heroes in our community who donate their time and skills to Olde Towne. Many of our residents help the OTCA with our park, our events, the mall, etc. During the next few issues we will be honoring your friends and neighbors that have contributed to making Olde Towne a better place to live. Will you be on the list? If you would like to volunteer, attend the next OTCA meeting or contact any board member. If you don’t like what we are doing, help us make it right!

Dues are Now Due

Just a reminder, our new year started May 1st. Dues are $24 for the year. Dues contribute toward upkeep of the park and mall, printing of the Crier, and the adult socials and children’s parties. If you would like to make an additional donation, please include it with your check. We have spent about $1,000 on landscaping improvements to the entrance mall which included the purchase of soil, additional pine straw, and annuals. We hope you agree the entrance is looking really good now! We have a little money left in the budget for some additional plantings, but to continue this we will need to have more dues paying members and more extra donations. I’m sure you will all agree the having a beautiful entrance to our neighborhood is really important and it’s something we will enjoy throughout the year. Please be a good citizen and neighbor. Complete the enclosed information sheet and submit it along with your dues. If you are able, please make an extra contribution. Even $10 will help. Your OTCA thanks you for your support.

Next Meeting

Stuart Smith’s home - 10076 S. Olde Towne Wynd on June 9th at 7 p.m. We hope you will attend.
