Olde Towne Crier October 2008
Halloween Party
Jennifer Ferzola will be hosting the children’s Halloween party in the community park on Sunday, October 25th. It will be from 3-5 p.m and it will be spooktacular! Please contact Jennifer if you will be attending or would like to help her with the party. This is a great way for your children to meet other children in the neighborhood and enjoy our park. Costumes optional, but encouraged. Jenn’s contact number is 371-6123.
Oyster Roast
Patricia Ashburner will be hosting our annual Oyster roast that has been scheduled for November 14th. We will have oysters, shrimp, sausage and lots of other dishes. We will also be holding a short meeting to amend and update our bylaws, so please plan on attending. Fill out the enclosed sign up sheet, drop it in the OTCA mail box, email it, or call Pat at 880-1171 if you will be attending. We hope you will come, have some fun, eat some great food, meet some neighbors and make some new friends.
Teddy Hiatt Memorial
The OTCA donation to Teddy Hiatt’s family was received with thanks and was placed in the Southport Elementary School Scholarship Fund. Individual donations in Teddy’s name may be made at BB&T or RBC Centura bank.
Fall Yard Sale
A huge thank you to Carolyn Ferguson and Bobbi Fitzpatrick for co-chairing the yard sale and collecting from the participants. The yard sale raised about $200 for the OTCA.

Crier Ads
Crier Ad rates start at $5 for members for a business card size ad. Please contact me, Clare Heinz 371-2125(w) for more information. I would like to run a whole page of ads next month for the businesses in Olde Towne (there are a few of us). Please contact me if interested.
Recycling
As you are probably aware, we are no longer allowed to throw plastic drink containers into the trash. Recyclables can be dropped off at the park on Hwy 133 (across from the Belville school) at any time when the park is open, or the landfill on Chappell Loop Rd. The Landfill is open from 8:00-6:00 Mon, Wed, ,Fri ,and Sat. Along with the plastic there are many other things that can be recycled – aluminum cans, white paper, newspapers, phone books. Every time you recycle there is less trash that is going into our landfills. Need further info? Contact Tim Byrd @ 371-2456.
