We hope you can join us!

Park Clean Up

January’s park clean up is scheduled for Saturday January 12th at 10 a.m. We will be working on clearing the park behind the BBQ pit and finish clearing the entryway from SOTW into the park. Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Commissioner’s Corner

Belville’s Town Hall has moved to 497 Olde Waterford Way, Suite 205. Turn from US 17S into Waterford Entrance. Take an immediate left and after passing the back of Romanelli’s Restaurant, you will see an office complex on your right. Town Hall is on the second floor under the large clock. The rent increased from $1500 to $4500 per month with the change. Stop by and see how tax dollars are spent.

The next public meeting is 7:00 pm on 14th of January. The vacancy on the Board of Commissioners will be filled that night. Come to meeting and speak for the candidate of your choice. Olde Towne has one candidate for the vacant position, Joe Breault of South Olde Towne Wynd.

Children’s Parties

We need more ‘Party Helpers‘ for the OTCA children’s parties (Easter, Halloween, Christmas) for 2008. Please contact Jennifer Ferzola at 371-2698 if you are available to help in any way.

Welcome New Residents

If you have just moved to Olde Towne please call Patricia Ashburner at (383-0632) or stop by at our next association meeting. We’d love to meet you. Please consider joining our neighborhood association.

You’ve Got Mail?

If you are interested in receiving your Crier via email please let Stuart Smith know. This would decrease our costs and lighten the load for our deliverers. We are also looking into creating a website where The Crier would be available online in the future. If you are interested in either option, please let us know.

Crier Ads

Have something you need to sell? ‘For Sale’ Ads in the Crier are free for all association members. If you would like to purchase ad space to promote your business products or services to the community, advertising space is available. For a schedule of fees, or to place an ad, please call Clare at 371-0579 or email

2007 Year in review

The purpose of the Olde Towne Community Association is to make Olde Towne a better place to live.

We are a voluntary organization with annual dues of $24. This year our membership increased from 66 to 82. We conducted a survey and have implemented many of your suggestions and will continue this work through 2008.

We maintain the Olde Towne entrance, our park, have children’s parties at Easter, Halloween, and Christmas, family activities including a pig pickin, oyster roast, lobster fest, and progressive dinner. We publish the Olde Towne Crier, and represent the community with our concerns.

With your input and assistance, we have improved our park significantly. Kenny Edgar has done a lot of mowing, Joe Breault built a barbeque grill, Matt Knotts built four picnic tables as part of his Eagle Scout project. We paved the park entrance road with recycled asphalt, and did a lot of cleanup work. Many of the neighborhood kids helped paint the pipes in the park. Many of you contributed to the physical labor in the park including Joe and Mary Breault, Denny Kern, Bobbi and Doug Fitzpatrick, Juliene Padgett, Jonas and Javit Williams, Don Farrington, and Steve and Matt Knotts, and Stuart Smith. Roger Lee has been a big help with the mall keeping it mowed and neat.

Patricia Ashburner has continued to organize the pig pickin and oyster roast. Joe Breault envisioned and organized the lobster fest including procuring the lobsters and Jonas Williams assisted with the cooking.

The children’s parties are always a great success due to the efforts of the mothers including: Jennifer Ferzola, Jackie Moody, Maria Hill, Claire Clemmons, and Emily Rainwater.

We finally persuaded Belville to take over Southampton and part of S. Olde Towne Wynd. Belville is working with DOT to take over maintenance of the roads. We will continue working with Belville to maintain all the roads in Olde Towne.

There is more that goes on. Clare Heinz has done a great job publishing the Olde Towne Crier and doing the association minutes, Bobbi Fitzpatrick is a fantastic treasurer and she and Doug help with everything. Denny Kern is always there to help. Many residents helped financially by making an extra donation for the park or mall. Dorothy Osborne, Carolyn Ferguson, Anne Snyder and Bobbi Fitzpatrick deliver the Criers.

I am sure there are many other things that I forgot to include. The bottom line is that there are many people that contribute to making Olde Towne a better place to live. If you have any suggestions or would like to become more involved in your community, please call Stuart Smith (371-9555). We encourage you to attend our monthly meetings and participate in all our community events. We also encourage your attendance at the Belville town meetings. We appreciate your help.
