Olde Towne Pig Pickin 2010

Olde Towne Community annual pig pickin continues to be a great way for neighbor to catch up with everyone they don't have the opportunity to see throughout the year. This years gathering was about 42 to 45 in attendance. There was plenty of food and company for all ages.

Patricia Ashburner organized the occassion with her usual enthusiasum. The plates and napkins were gorgeous with their gerber dasies and made it extremely difficult to want to eat off them or use the napkins! She had everything so well planned out that all everyone had to do was come with their side dish and just enjoy eveyones company.

Bob Uzzell and his father Gerald roasted a big pig, pulled the meat and chopped it with expert skill. There were hush puppies, cole slaw, a great variety of salads, mac and cheese, deserts and more that was enjoyed by everyone.

The blessing was said by a pastor within our olde towne community attending with his family. Our mayor Jack Batson who lives in our small community attented as well.

A short annual meeting to elect the coming year officers was held by Stuart Smith just before everyone dug into eating the delicious food.

Thanks to everyone that attended. The food was fabulous... I think it gets better every year. Thanks Pat for all your hard work again and thank you Bev for taking pics.
