Olde Towne Crier December 2010
MERRY CHRISTMAS
Olde Towne Drainage
The old plugged drain line that blocked the drainage of most of Olde Towne has been repaired. Belville worked with Brunswick County to remove the plugged drain pipe and replace it with an open ditch. The ditch can be easily maintained. The previous drain pipe had caved in several places totally blocking the flow of storm water out of Olde Towne. All that is left is some cleanup. The drainage work was done with a grant that Brunswick county has and so there was no cost to Belville or Olde Towne. We all thank Belville, and particularly Mayor Jack Batson for getting this done and eliminating the flooding and mosquitoes that came with the flooding.
The children in Olde Towne had a joyful Christmas party at Cheryl Moody’s home on December 11. Santa visited and had a gift for each of the children. We thank Cheryl and Kristie Butts and Emily Rainwater who helped make this a big thrill for our children. Also, we thank Santa for coming. The only thing that was not cooperative was the weather. The party had to be moved from the park to Cheryl’s home due to the rain. Fortunately, this did not stop Santa.
Next Meeting
The next OTCA meeting will be at Stuart Smith’s home at 10076 S. Olde Towne Wynd on January 12. Everyone is encouraged and welcome to attend.
